Decoupage on MDF chest drawers

Hello all!!!!!
Hope you all are doing well. In today's post I'm going to show a detailed tutorial on how to make decoupage on MDF(Medium-density fibreboard) chest drawer.

Lets check the materials required
  • MDF chest drawer
  • Camel Artists Gesso
  • Camel Artists Acrylic Colours
  • Camel Texture Paste
  • Pattern Papers
  • Mod podge
  • Varnish
  • Sand Paper
Step 1:
Using sand paper, sand the complete MDF surface.

Step 2:
Apply gesso all over the surface. Medium coat of gesso will be adequate.

Step 3:
Measure the MDF box dimensions and cut out the pattern papers in the required measurements.

Step 4:
Using mod podge attach the pattern paper.Apply thin layer of mod podge on the MDF surface and attach the pattern paper and apply pressure uniformly. Also apply one more coat of mod podge on the pattern paper surface to seal the paper on MDF.

Step 5:
Using Camel texture paste and a stencil create some texture in the places where pattern paper is not attached. Give it sometime to try or heat set it to make the procedure fast.

Step 6:
Once it is dried apply acrylic paints on MDF box and drawers too. Add colours until you are really happy with the outcome.

Step 7:
Apply several coats of varnish until you get a good look.
